TARS Juniors Log Books give you the opportunity to progress from being a Ship’s Boy or Girl to becoming an Able Seaman by attending five different TARS events. Once you’ve completed your Able Seaman Log Book you’ll then have the opportunity for promotion to Mate and then to Captain. Log books and badges (Photo at page end) are available from your regional committee.
When you join TARS there is a box to indicate the number of Log Books you require, but make sure we have your full name to put in the book. You can order one later on from memsec@feel.construction
To collect evidence towards your Log Book before you join, you need to record what you did, when you did it, provide any certification or receipts for a course, photographs or sketches if recording wildlife and the route taken, or written and photographic evidence of a camping or nautical activity, and have a responsible adult sign that you did any of these. You do not necessarily need an adult with you on a safe activity such as a local walk to make sightings of wildlife, but you must have parental permission to go out with just your friends.
