Within 24 hours of the Board decision we had received £500 to the S&A Fund, and it is over £17,000 now so we have achieved the matched funding from The Nancy Blackett Trust to put Swallow on her way to being restored for £11,800. Amazon is on the water ready to hire for under £2000.
and then we need to find 2024 licence and mooring fees, and
£10,000
restoration funding for Amazon!
And then we are looking for a cushion fund against crash repairs as it will be cheaper to get the boats repaired and working instead of waiting on insurance paperwork, so will be looking for a further £5000 per boat to facilitate this, and another cushion fund against being unable to hire sue to adverse weather conditions.
Thereafter the boats should more or less earn their keep. ☺The expert annual maintenance and relatively chemical free waters should prolong the interval between restorations.
Amazon: Amazon is ready to row and to sail thanks to the Hunter’s team. Thank you all!
Swallow
Swallow is in need of a considerable amount of repair and restoration and has all the money in place so they are starting work in the most economic way possible.
Fund growth:
Target 1 Achieved Amazon on the water for hire for under £2000
Target 2 Achieved! We have the £11,800 to repair Swallow’s broken woodwork, and as they go to investigate how much timber needs replacing, re-varnish, and perhaps more money if more timber needs replacing than they think. Work started late August 2023.
Target 3 £10,000 to renovate and re-varnish Amazon probably 2025/6
Target 4 £10,000 as a fund to repair the boats before insurance crawls in so we can continue to earn as soon as possible.
